Baseball Recap: Depew Triumphs

Depew's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Cheektowaga Chargers. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargers, too.

Lucas Spruch was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Scibetta, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Depew lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win got Depew back to even at 2-2. As for Cheektowaga, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Depew will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
