Volleyball Recap: Midway Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Midway had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 3-1 to the Harnett Central Trojans on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Midway's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ella Clark, who had 44 assists and six digs, and Abbie Beasley, who had 17 digs and two assists. Clark has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 26 times she's played. Kaedyn Moran was another key player, hitting 78.4% for 33 kills and 14 digs and four aces.

Midway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Cleveland on the 13th. As for Harnett Central, they will host Jack Britt at 5:45 p.m. on the 20th.
