Baseball Game Preview: Jackson North Side Indians vs. Haywood Tomcats

Jackson North Side hasn't had much luck against Haywood recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Jackson North Side is taking a road trip to take on Haywood at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Jackson North Side and Jackson South Side faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. Jackson North Side took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jackson South Side. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 25, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Jackson North Side saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Doan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Doan has posted since back in April of 2024. Xavier Spann also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Haywood's offense. They lost 14-0 to Bolivar Central on Tuesday. The Tomcats haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Haywood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Jackson North Side, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything went Jackson North Side's way against Haywood in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Jackson North Side made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jackson North Side since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
