After flying high against Indianola Academy last Tuesday, Marshall Academy came back down to earth. The Patriots fell just short of the Colonels by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Gage Todd was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Kyler Todd was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Marshall Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Indianola Academy, they moved to 5-12 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Coming up, Marshall Academy will host North Delta at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Green Wave a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
