Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Tigers vs. Cornersville Bulldogs

The Mt. Pleasant Tigers will take on the Cornersville Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Pleasant will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

The home team had come away the winner the last three times Mt. Pleasant and Cornersville had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Mt. Pleasant put the hurt on Cornersville with a sharp 12-2 win on Monday.

Hunter Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Brown was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jackson Lindsey was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Mt. Pleasant: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Sheldon Christy was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Mt. Pleasant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mt. Pleasant now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cornersville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
