Cristo Rey wound up on the wrong side of a  tough 19-3 walloping at the hands of the Victory Christian Academy Knights. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cristo Rey in their matchups with Victory Christian Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
 For Victory Christian Academy's part,  Angel Rosario made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Rosario was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Max Gardner and  Xavier Renteria did most of the damage at the plate:  Gardner  scored four  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4, while  Renteria  went 3-for-4 with three  runs, a  triple,  and two  RBI. Gardner has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Nicholas Bulatao, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Cristo Rey now  has a losing record at 0-1-1. As for Victory Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey will  square off against Gompers Prep Academy at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Julian at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday. Victory Christian Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses.
