Volleyball Recap: Dominguez Takes a Loss

Dominguez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bellflower Buccaneers. If the Dons were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Buccaneers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dominguez took Bellflower into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 23-26, 25-21, 15-10.

Dominguez's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bellflower, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-19.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Dominguez will challenge rival Gahr at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bellflower is set to square off against their familiar foe Lynwood at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
