Ringgold and Morgan County squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Ringgold had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Alayna Yarger paced Ringgold's offense, picking up nine kills. Yarger got some help from Natalie Crane and her 17 assists. Crane was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Morgan County found their leader in sophomore Brayden Burke, who had nine digs and four aces. Burke has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.
Ringgold's defeat dropped their record down to 34-12. As for Morgan County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-12 record this season.
