Niles West hasn't had much luck against Whitney Young recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Dolphins at 4:30 p.m.
Niles West blew Amundsen out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Amundsen got their revenge. The Wolves fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolves have suffered since April 30th.

Penny Hutchison was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Hutchison wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Park, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Whitney Young had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Blue Demons get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. Considering the Dolphins have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Chiqui Vazquez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Natalie Nieves was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Whitney Young was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .680. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.
The win (which was Whitney Young's eighth in a row) raised their record to 23-10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Niles West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-16.
Niles West might still be hurting after the 17-9 defeat they got from Whitney Young in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
