Football Recap: Millikan Comes Up Short

Millikan suffered their biggest defeat since August 23, 2024 on Friday. They were beaten by the Downey Vikings 55-7. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Jonah Tuaniga threw for 208 yards and one TD. Landon Ross was his top target, picking up 122 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Samson Khan rushed for 55 yards.

Oscar Rios was a one-man wrecking crew For Downey. as he threw for 266 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 74 yards and one score on only eight carries. The dominant performance also gave Rios a new career-high in passer rating (166.7).

Millikan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Downey, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millikan will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cabrillo at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Downey, they will face off against Sierra Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
