League recap: E.E. Smith tops Cape Fear to extend winning streak

E.E. Smith extended the longest winning streak in 4A Mid-South this week by beating Cape Fear, 34-3. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.

E.E. Smith took down the Colts 34-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Phillip Bell threw for 67 yards and ran for 105 yards in the win.

Sulamian Mustafaa was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 122 yards on 14 carries as Duran Mclaurin's team bested Pine Forest.

McDaniel was the best wideout in the league this week as the Buccaneers bested the Trojans. McDaniel racked up five receptions for 98 yards. Marquis Foshee helped Jack Britt's passing attack out by catching two balls for 36 yards.

Darryl Bonner put up the best numbers through the air as Terry Sanford topped West Bladen. He finished with a total of eight completions for 130 yards and one touchdown. Bonner's favorite target this week was Jamall Daniels, who caught one pass for 65 yards.

Cape Fear's Spencer Faircloth and Cole Humphrey have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A Mid-South in both passing and receiving yards. Faircloth has thrown for 1496 yards this season, while Humphrey, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 52 catches for 818 yards. The Golden Bulls' Bell leads the league in rushing yards with 1197.

The Bulldogs led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Knights. Bonner ran for 49 yards in the win.
