Softball Recap: Montgomery Catholic Comes Up Short

Montgomery Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 12-8 to the Chilton County Tigers. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

Kamryn Iverson and Rylee Wilcoxson did some serious damage despite the final result: Iverson scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Wilcoxson went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Avery Sadler also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Montgomery Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Chilton County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 21 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Montgomery Catholic and Chilton County will both be playing Hewitt-Trussville the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Huskies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
