Waukesha West faced Fond du Lac in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wolverines came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinals, sneaking past 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Wolverines, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the defeat, Fond du Lac saw an underclassman step up: freshman Liberty Gessner had ten assists and seven digs.

The victory made it two in a row for Waukesha West and bumps their season record up to 16-8. As for Fond du Lac, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
