Baseball Recap: Springville Sets Scoring Season-High Against Center Point

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springville). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Center Point Eagles a 14-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won six matches in a row.

Jacob Bailey was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Grant Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Springville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Springville's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Center Point, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Springville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
