Football Recap: Spackenkill Spartans vs. Red Hook Raiders        
        
		
             After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Marlboro Central, Spackenkill was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Red Hook Raiders  a   13-0 shutout. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered  a  24-14  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 The critical scores for Spackenkill came from  Jacob Brandenburg and  Finn Lynch.
 Spackenkill's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of  Bryan Hoyt and  Lynch.
 The  win  got Spackenkill back to even at 1-1. As for Red Hook,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spackenkill will head out to  challenge O'Neill  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Red Hook, they are taking a road trip to  face off against Roosevelt  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
