Basketball Recap: East St. Louis Makes It Five in a Row at Home

East St. Louis had won four straight home games and Alex Johnson did his part to make it five on Tuesday. The East St. Louis Flyers took down Gateway Christian 51-36 thanks in part to Johnson, who went 6 for 10 en route to 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Another player making a difference was Ishaia Brown, who posted six points in addition to nine boards and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times he's played.

East St. Louis' win bumped their record up to 10-13.

East St. Louis will take on McCluer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gateway Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
