Basketball Recap: Copenhagen Takes a Loss

If Copenhagen was feeling good fresh off their 53-29 takedown of Manlius Pebble Hill last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Copenhagen Golden Knights were outmatched by the Mexico Tigers and fell 78-51. The Golden Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-22.

Copenhagen's loss on Monday came despite strong showings from Aydan Sheitz and Jacob Lawlee. Sheitz went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and three steals, while Lawlee went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Sheitz now owns an excellent 45.8% field goal percentage.

Copenhagen now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Mexico, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
