Volleyball Recap: Addy Hazelbaker and Caylin Cox Secure Win for Johnstown-Monroe

Johnstown-Monroe's tournament run continued when they took on Groveport-Madison on Saturday. The Johnnies came out on top against the Cruisers by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Johnnies.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Johnstown-Monroe was: they took both sets by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-11.

Leading Johnstown-Monroe to victory were Caylin Cox and Addy Hazelbaker. Cox had six kills, five aces, three digs, and one block, while Hazelbaker had 15 assists and six digs. Those five aces gave Cox a new career-high.

Johnstown-Monroe's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Groveport-Madison, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Johnstown-Monroe will take on Utica at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Groveport-Madison, they will square off against Whetstone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
