Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Spartans vs. Santa Fe South Saints

For the second straight game, Southeast will face off against Santa Fe South. The Spartans will head out to challenge the Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Southeast easily dispatched Capitol Hill on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Spartans fell just short of Santa Fe South by a score of 7-5 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost six in a row.

Xzavier Aguilar put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Aguilar wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julio Jaime, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Jaime brought in this season.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Santa Fe South, bringing their record up to 9-15. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
