Soccer Game Preview: Serra vs. St. Monica

The Serra Cavaliers will start their season against the St. Monica Mariners. Kickoff is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Serra will have to contend with a St. Monica team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen yet this season. St. Monica came up short against Windward two weeks ago, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 988th, while the Wildcats are ranked 474th).

St. Monica's loss dropped their record down to 0-3-2.

As for Serra, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished 0-11.
