Volleyball Game Preview: Reading Memorial Rockets vs. Longmeadow Lancers + How To Watch

The Reading Memorial Rockets are taking a road trip to challenge the Longmeadow Lancers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Reading Memorial is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Winchester just ended the team's six-match winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Red & Black, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rockets have suffered since November 4, 2024.

Longmeadow had won eight straight games and Claire Taylor did her part to make it nine on Thursday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Mount Greylock Regional thanks in part to Taylor, who had five digs and two aces. Those aces were her first of the season.

Longmeadow walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-20, 25-20.

Reading Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Longmeadow, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Reading Memorial suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Longmeadow when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
