Volleyball Recap: Trinity Lutheran Takes a Loss

Trinity Lutheran was the 2-0 winner over Columbus North when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Bull Dogs on Tuesday. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bull Dogs 25-15 in the first set.

Trinity Lutheran started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-22.

Rachel Bonde paced Trinity Lutheran's offense, picking up 15 kills. Bonde got some help from Bella Wehmiller and her 34 assists. Bailey Bonde controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Trinity Lutheran and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Columbus North, their record is now 5-2.

Looking ahead, Trinity Lutheran will face off against Franklin Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbus North, they will square off against Roncalli at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bull Dogs surely won't give up without a fight.
