Football Recap: Wheatland Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wheatland can now relate to. They were beaten by the Sonora Wildcats 49-7 on Friday. The Pirates have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Joseph Franklin threw for 238 yards and one touchdown. Jaylen Brown was his top target, picking up 86 receiving yards and one score.

Sonora's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Ingalls led the charge by throwing for 155 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven passes, while also rushing for 34 yards and one score. Those 155 passing yards gave Ingalls a new career-high. Steven Morfoot was Ingalls' top target, picking up 130 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Wheatland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Sonora, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Wheatland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sonora, they will face off against Bradshaw Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Pride have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
