Apalachee has been away from home for two games now, but on Friday they'll finally make their return. They will welcome the Jackson County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both are at an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2018, but likely not for long.

Last Saturday, Apalachee had to suffer through a 48-21 loss at the hands of Clarke Central. The Wildcats have struggled against the Gladiators recently, as their game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson County). They breezed by Alcovy at home to the tune of 48-10 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their 11-point performance the matchup before.

Jackson County can attribute much of their success to Daylan Maxwell, who gained 105 total yards and a touchdown, and Caden Daniels, who picked up 64 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Jackson County's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as Cooper Galley, Maher Magness, and Jacob Vang picked up one apiece. Magness is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

Apalachee's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jackson County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
