The Lenox Memorial Millionaires are taking a road trip to challenge the Amherst-Pelham Regional Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lenox Memorial has 14 straight wins, Amherst-Pelham Regional has 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lenox Memorial had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 19-run drubbing they dealt Westfield Technical Academy on Thursday. The Millionaires' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 19-0 shutout. Considering the Millionaires have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Evelyn Julieano made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Julieano was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

In other batting news, Cassidy Flynn was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Julieano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Lenox Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .576. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Amherst-Pelham Regional came up short against Smith Vo-Tech on Wednesday, falling 23-3.
Amherst-Pelham Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Eddy, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Skyler Maradiaga Lanausse also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lenox Memorial pushed their record up to 14-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Amherst-Pelham Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
Amherst-Pelham Regional's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lenox Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .416. It's a different story for Amherst-Pelham Regional, though, as they've only averaged .210. Will they be able to contain Lenox Memorial's hitters?
Lenox Memorial took their victory against Amherst-Pelham Regional in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 24-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Millionaires since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
