Basketball Game Preview: Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves vs. Platte/Geddes Black Panthers

The Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves will square off against the Platte/Geddes Black Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte has given up an average of 53.2 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Last Friday, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lower Brule, but they still walked away with a 63-57 victory.

Meanwhile, Platte/Geddes had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against Miller by a score of 48-39 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Black Panthers, who have now won three matches in a row.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. Platte/Geddes pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Platte/Geddes when the teams last played back in December of 2014, but they still walked away with a 72-68 win.
