Softball Game Preview: Lakeland Preparatory Lions vs. Fayette Ware Wildcats

The Lakeland Preparatory Lions will square off against the Fayette Ware Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Lakeland Preparatory nor Fayette Ware posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Lakeland Preparatory fell victim to Haywood and their airtight pitching crew two weeks ago. They lost 10-0 to the Tomcats.

Lakeland Preparatory saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Pyles, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Those two hits gave Pyles a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Fayette Ware came up short against Fayette Academy on Monday, falling 17-2.

Fayette Ware dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Lakeland Preparatory's way against Fayette Ware in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Lakeland Preparatory made off with a 14-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeland Preparatory since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
