Minster lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Shawnee, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Braves an 11-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Wildcats have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Rylin Trego, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Inskeep, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Minster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shawnee only posted an OBP of .350.
Minster has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Shawnee, they moved to 14-3 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.
Minster and Shawnee should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge Marion Local at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (51 vs. 359). Meanwhile, Shawnee (ranked 15th) will meet Troy Christian (ranked 646th) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
