Volleyball Recap: Crandon Takes a Loss

Crandon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Portage Warriors.

Crandon was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 15 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-15.

Portage can attribute much of their success to Kate Stevenson, who had four aces and three digs. Those four aces gave Stevenson a new career-high. Ashlyn Rusch also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Crandon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Portage, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Crandon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Northland Pines on the 13th. As for Portage, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Southern Door on the 13th.
