Basketball Game Preview: East Rutherford Cavaliers vs. Patton Panthers

East Rutherford hasn't had much luck against Patton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The East Rutherford Cavaliers are taking a road trip to square off against the Patton Panthers at 8:00 p.m. East Rutherford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Patton likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, East Rutherford strolled past Chase with points to spare, taking the game 81-65. The Cavaliers pushed the score to 61-40 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Patton was beaten by Lincolnton 82-35 on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Wolves are ranked 138th).

East Rutherford's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for Patton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

East Rutherford came up short against Patton when the teams last played on January 7th, falling 74-66. Can East Rutherford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
