Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Knights vs. Westfield School Hornets

The Calvary Christian Knights will head out to square off against the Westfield School Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Calvary Christian is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against St. Anne-Pacelli on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Calvary Christian lost 79-53 to St. Anne-Pacelli. The Knights have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Calvary Christian had strong showings from Tj Benson, who posted 22 points and five steals, and Liam Hocutt, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Hocutt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Hosten, who had seven points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Westfield School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Brookstone.

Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Westfield School, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
