Cuero dropped their record down to 11-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the La Vernia Bears, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Gobblers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for La Vernia, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

For La Vernia's part, Cash Howton was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Howton has posted since back in March. Brennan Little was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

While Cuero had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
