Waverly faced Norris in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Vikings took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

While Waverly ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20.

Gracie Lauenstein paced Waverly's offense, picking up five kills. Lauenstein got some help from Tyka Hoos and her ten assists.

Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 24-3. As for Norris, the win keeps them at an undefeated 30-0.

Waverly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Elkhorn North on the 11th. As for Norris, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Gretna on the 11th.
