The West Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Granger Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
It was a proper cat-fight when West duked it out with West Jordan on Friday. The Panthers breezed past the Jaguars to the tune of 63-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 27 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Kamden Lopati, who threw for 349 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 60 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 26 passing touchdowns on the season. Mani Tu'Uao was in the mix too, providing West with two scores.
West didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited West Jordan to a completion percentage of just 21.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Jaxon Toala and Justice Reed, who each logged two passes deflected. West has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.64 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.64 in their last three games.
West didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elijah Lutui and Reed.
Meanwhile, Granger got themselves on the board against Hunter on Friday, but Hunter never followed suit. They blew past the Wolverines 54-0. That looming 54-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lancers yet this season.
Granger's win came from a few key players West will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Owen Griffin, who threw for 267 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing yards (22). Mateni Puamau was Griffin's top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 59 yards and one score.
West's record is now 7-1. As for Granger, their record now sits at 6-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. West has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 248.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Granger struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 219.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for West against Granger in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
