Soccer Game Preview: American Heritage vs. Stoneman Douglas

The American Heritage Patriots will face off against the Stoneman Douglas Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

American Heritage is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Lourdes Academy, who was ranked fifth at the time (American Heritage was ranked second). American Heritage put the hurt on Lourdes Academy with a sharp 5-1 victory back in December of 2024. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Meanwhile, Stoneman Douglas put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They never let Cooper City onto the board and left with a 3-0 win. Give the Eagles' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

They hit Cooper City with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Emily Rodriguez, Alexa Jourdan, and Courtney Heymach.

Stoneman Douglas' victory bumped their record up to 7-0-5. As for American Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
