Baseball Recap: Mansfield Comes Up Short

Mansfield managed to slip by Franklin the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hornets came up short against the Panthers on Wednesday, falling 6-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Hornets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Brendan Vokey was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Mansfield's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8. As for Franklin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Mansfield will welcome Oliver Ames at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin, they are taking a road trip to square off against King Philip Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.3, the Warriors 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
