Basketball Recap: Mount Anthony Comes Up Short

Mount Anthony was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 68-59 to the Brattleboro Bears. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Leading Brattleboro to victory were Hudson Smith and Oscar Korson. Smith went 9-for-13 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds, while Korson went 6-for-12 to rack up 18 points. Korson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Wheeler, who posted seven points.

Mount Anthony's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Brattleboro, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Anthony will take on Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Anthony has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Brattleboro, they will venture away from home to face off against Rutland at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Brattleboro knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Rutland likes a good challenge.
