Cocke County came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.1 points), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Greeneville Greene Devils 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Fighting Cocks have posted against the Greene Devils since January 14, 2019.

Cocke County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Blakelyn Clevenger out in front who went 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points. Ava Wheeler was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Greeneville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Maria Lyde, who went 5-for-11 en route to 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyla Jobe, who went 8-for-18 on her way to 20 points.

Cocke County's win bumped their record up to 24-6. As for Greeneville, their loss dropped their record down to 17-10.
