Basketball Recap: Shadyside Takes a Loss

Shadyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 74-29 defeat at the hands of the Caldwell Redskins. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-18.

Leading Caldwell to victory were Carter Wheeldin and Dylan Schott. Wheeldin dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Schott went 7 of 10 on his way to 20 points. Wheeldin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Crock, who posted six points and four steals.

Shadyside's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Caldwell, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shadyside will square off against Bellaire at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caldwell, they will head out to face off against Eastern at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
