Basketball Recap: Amite Comes Up Short

If Amite was riding high fresh off their 75-49 takedown of Salmen last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Amite Warriors fell 58-45 to the Destrehan Wildcats on Friday.

Amite has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Destrehan, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9.

Amite and L.W. Higgins will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Destrehan, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Donaldsonville at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
