Baseball Recap: Halifax Wildcats vs. Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes

Halifax was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Eli Miller made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Custer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Brayden Midile, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Halifax's record now sits at 2-0. As for Schuylkill Haven, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Halifax and Schuylkill Haven will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wildcats are set to take on their familiar foe Upper Dauphin Area at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Schuylkill Haven will square off against rival Nativity BVM at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
