Basketball Recap: Frontenac Raiders vs. Webb City Cardinals
Frontenac lost against Webb City back in January of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Frontenac Raiders had to suffer through a 89-52 loss at the hands of the Webb City Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 261st in Kansas, while the Cardinals are ranked 120th in Missouri).
Webb City had a senior duo take command as Eli Pace went 10 of 16 on his way to 22 points along with eight steals and five boards and Holton Keith went 10 for 18 en route to 27 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Pace is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Travien Turner, who posted six points and five steals.
Frontenac's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Webb City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Frontenac will venture away from home to face off against St. Mary's-Colgan at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Webb City, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-36 win against Nevada on the 24th.
