It was fun while it lasted, but Liberty's undefeated season came to an end after 11 games on Wednesday. They came up short against the Staunton River Golden Eagles, falling 59-33. The loss put an end to the Minutemen's undefeated start to the season.

Despite the defeat, Liberty had strong showings from Moriah Tate, who posted 14 points, and Shania Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Brown is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last four games she's played.

Even though they lost, Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Having lost for the first time this season, Liberty fell to 11-1. As for Staunton River, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will host Glass at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Staunton River has already played their next match (against William Byrd), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
