Midlothian faced St. Catherine in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Trojans walked away with a 5-0 win over the Saints. The Trojans' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Not much got past Marlee Gaskell, who gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep St. Catherine's off the board. Gaskell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bella Moussa was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.0 runs this season. As for St. Catherine's, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 14 games and leaves them with a 15-2 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midlothian will host L.C. Bird at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Skyhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.91 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Catherine's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity Episcopal at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
