Baseball Recap: New Richmond Makes It Three in a Row at Home

New Richmond lost to Summit Country Day back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Lions walked away with a 4-1 win over the Silver Knights. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Ethan Taggart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because New Richmond is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Hunter Ashley was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

New Richmond pushed their record up to 5-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Summit Country Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

New Richmond will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Silver Knights: the pair will be back at it again later today.
