Softball Recap: Horizon Science Academy Mckinley Park's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Thornton Fractional North two weeks ago, Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park came back down to earth. The Hawks lost 19-7 to the Jones Eagles on Tuesday. The loss put an end to the Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Alyssa Lopez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Lopez is crushing it when it comes to home runs: she's launched at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Cassandra Medrano was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park fell to 2-1.

Coming up, Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park will welcome Francis W. Parker at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jones, they will venture away from home to square off against Prosser at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
