Warren and Parkersburg South are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Warren came up short against Wheeling Park last Saturday, falling 9-1. The Warriors have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Parkersburg South fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against East Carter on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 7-6. The Patriots' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Anniston Shelton put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out 18 batters over ten innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Shelton wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Emma Kuhl, who scored two runs while going 2-for-6. Another was Alison Marcum, who went 3-for-6 with two RBI.

Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Parkersburg South, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Warren might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Parkersburg South in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
