Basketball Recap: Ignacio Comes Up Short

Ignacio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 29-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Center Vikings. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anahlicia Villagomez led the charge by putting up six points and four steals. Villagomez is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Emiliana Valdez was another key player, shooting 42% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven boards.

Ignacio's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Center, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Ignacio will be taking part in a tournament against Piedra Vista at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Center, they will take on James Irwin in a tournament on Thursday.
