Basketball Recap: Tina-Avalon Piles Up the Points Against Northwestern

There's no place like home for Tina-Avalon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Northwestern Eagles 62-32 on Thursday. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Dragons had established a 24-point advantage.

Alison O'Neal was nothing short of spectacular: she shot 57% from the field en route to 21 points and six rebounds. Madeline O'Neal was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six assists and six boards.

Tina-Avalon was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Tina-Avalon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Northwestern, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Tina-Avalon will head out to face off against Tri-County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwestern and Grundy County/Newtown-Harris will compete for holiday cheer at 9:00 a.m. on the 20th.
