Softball Recap: Herriman Snags 12th Victory in Last 14 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Herriman rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Syracuse Titans as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Ashlyn Beratto tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaylee Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Sofia Lancaster was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Herriman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Herriman is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Syracuse, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season.

Herriman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Riverton on the 20th. Syracuse does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
